Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) occurs when the heart stops beating and blood stops flowing to vital organs. It’s one of the leading causes of natural death in the U.S. Many of these deaths are unnecessary and preventable. It’s usually hard to signal for help when SCA occurs since one of the first symptoms is loss of consciousness. However, many people nowadays wear heart monitors on a daily basis. What if these could track your heart for signs of SCA and alert people that are close by? Google Rescue is a proposed feature for Google Maps that would let people who are  CPR certified to opt-in to get notifications and directions to people experiencing SCA nearby.
